Supernatural fans at San Diego Comic-Con had a special treat this year. Not only did Misha Collins (Castiel) bring donuts to those waiting in line, but the panel opened with Kansas on stage playing “Carry on Wayward Son.” As panel hosts Richard Speight, Jr. (Gabriel) and Rob Benedict (Chuck) pointed out, it felt like a sign that Supernatural has really made it. Apparently, they weren’t the only ones excited to see the band because Jensen Ackles (Dean Winchester), Jared Padalecki (Sam Winchester) and Misha Collins surprised fans when they stood in the back of Hall H to watch Kansas perform. You never know you might see in the crowd at San Diego Comic-Con, especially at a Supernatural panel. Continue reading

Castiel’s past comes back to haunt him in “Lily Sunder Has Some Regrets.” It turns out there are consequences for some actions, whether “comic” or not. Castiel isn’t the only angel who appreciates humans on Supernatural, but he often seems to be in the minority amongst those of the Heavenly realm. Angels have a mixed reputation among the humans as well. In “Lily Sunder Has Some Regrets,” Supernatural reminds us once again that angels are just as flawed as humans. Continue reading

Supernatural has kept us engaged through 11 seasons by giving us great stories and characters that we connect to emotionally. This beloved CW series was built with epic monster tales, but its foundation is family. Season 12 will be helmed by new co-showrunners Andrew Dabb and Robert Singer, who have both been involved with Supernatural for many years. They’re planning on bringing viewers back to the basics with the return of Mary Winchester, a focus on smaller stories, and the search for Lucifer. Oh, and monsters, lots of monsters.
