The Hillywood Show takes on 80s-themed Horror with Stranger Things Parody

Hannah Hindi Hillywood Stranger ThingsAs the spookiest time of the year approaches, fans of Stranger Things await the release of the second season of the spine-chilling Netflix series. All the more reason to check out Stranger Things Parody video by The Hillywood Show. The sisters, who previously brought audiences parodies of Sherlock, Supernatural, and Doctor Who, now focus their energy on the instant cult classic. Just as Stranger Things is a love letter to the films of the 80s, Stranger Things Parody is a to tribute the unique nostalgia the streamed series evokes. Stranger Things Parody scenes are played against an adaptation of the 1981 funk classic “Super Freak” by Rick James.

Hilly Hindi Hillywood Stranger Things ParodyHilly Hindi plays Mike Wheeler, who leads a mission to find a missing friend, while sister Hannah plays the mysterious Eleven. Hannah directed and Hilly wrote and edited this fun parody. On set, these talented sisters are involved with almost every aspect of the production including set dressing, cinematography, costumes, make-up, and location scouting. The Hindi’s grandmother Maria Maldonado was involved in costume design, providing the cast with much of their 80s garb. Their mother even made an appearance at the dinner table as Mrs. Wheeler.

Richard Speight Phil LaMarr Hillywood Stranger ThingsRichard Speight, Jr. (Kings of ConSupernatural) perfectly captures the goofy smile of Dustin Henderson. If you enjoy the always hilarious Speight, then you are going to love seeing him bicycling around a slightly undersized bike wearing a wig. The skeptical Lucas Sinclar is portrayed by Phil LaMarr (MADtv, Pulp Fiction). Kim Rhodes (Supernatural, The Suite Life of Zack and Cody) captures the sound and look of frantic single mother Joyce Byers perfectly. We honestly wondered if it was Winona Ryder for a second. Many of the scenes were filmed at the original Stranger Things locations in Georgia.

Stranger Things Parody Lyrics by Hilly and Hannah Hindi

She’s a very creepy girl
The kind you don’t take home to mother
She will lead us to the upside down
Once you get her in some clothes

She likes the boys in my gang
She says that I’m her all-time favorite
When I L’eggo all the Eggos
It’s the right time
She’s never hard to feed

Oh, no
That girl is pretty wild now
(The girl’s a super freak)
The kind of girl you read about
(In sci-fi magazines)
That girl is pretty creepy
(The girl’s a super freak)
I’d really love to save her
(Every time she bleeds)
She’s all right, she’s all right
That girl’s all right
With me, yeah
Hey, hey, hey-heeeey

She’s a super freak, super freak
With super powers, yow

Everybody sing
Super freak, super freak

She’s a very special girl
(The kind of girl you want to know)
From her head down to her sneakers
(Down to her feet, yeah)
Yeah she’ll wait for me after school
With my boyfriends
On our fancy bikes
(Gonna find the upside down)

They’re not a threat to her, she says
(Oh my god! Wee la la!)
At Hawking’s high school, I’ll be hiding
When I get there she is floating
In salt water
It’s such a freaky scene

That girl is pretty creepy
(The girl’s a super freak)
The kind of girl you read about
(In sci-fi magazines)
That girl is pretty wild now
(The girl’s a super freak)
I’d really like to kiss her
(Every time they meet)
She’s all right, she’s all right
That girl’s all right
With me, yeah
Hey, hey, hey-heeeey

She’s a super freak, super freak
With super powers, yow

Dustin, Lucas!
Oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh, oh-oooooh
Super freak, super freak
That girl’s a super freak
Oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh, oh-oooooh

She’s a very creepy girl
The kind you don’t take home to mother
She will lead you to the upside down
To slay the Demogorgon

Blow, Byers!
