The Hillywood Show goes full SuperWhoLock with Sherlock Parody

The Hillywood Show is up to their usual hijinks, giving us another entertaining parody video. This time, they’re portraying the immensely popular BBC series Sherlock. Sherlock Parody scenes are played against an adaptation of the song “Thrift Shop” by Mackelmore and Ryan Lewis. The creative Hillywood team even managed to snag a cameo from series creator Steven Moffat and his son Louis. Now that they’ve added Sherlock to their catalog on top of the previous parodies of Doctor Who and Supernatural, the Hindi sisters have proved their #SuperWhoLockian cred.

Hilly Hindi Hillywood Sherlock Parody Hilly Hindi plays the dysfunctional detective Sherlock Holmes, while sister Hannah Hindi portrays straight man Dr. John Watson. Hilly and Hannah were able to capture the mannerisms that Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman bring to their roles as contemporary versions of Holmes and Watson. As well as playing the main roles and doing some impressive dancing, the sisters were responsible for writing, directing, and editing Sherlock Parody. Is there anything they can’t do?

Supernatural alum Osric Chau joined the sisters once again, playing misunderstood villain Jim Moriarty. In Sherlock’s Video Diary Chau tells us that Moriarty is more bored than malicious. He takes it a step further in the Behind the Scenes video, noting, “If you really think about it, Sherlock is the evil one.” Chris Rankin, best known as Percy Weasley in the Harry Potter movies, takes on the role of Mycroft Holmes.

Sherlock Watson Mrs Hudson Hillywood Sherlock Parody Sherlock was more of a family affair than their previous videos. The Hindi sisters’ Grandmother,Tina Leaskas, plays Mrs. Hudson. Their grandfather Luis upholstered furniture and valances for the set.

The Sherlock Parody replicated many of the series’ memorable moments and scene sets. Sherlock Watson Hound Tor Hillywood Sherlock Parody Keeping true to the series, they filmed at some of the same locations such as Hounds Tor, the Bristol South Swimming Pool, and the entrance to 221B Baker Street. Sherlockology helped The Hillywood Show with locations, props, and other Sherlock-related specifics, ensuring they got it right.
