Supernatural: Season 11 Trailer Indicates the Darkness Will Cause Chaos and Guilt

In the CW’s new trailer Season 11 Supernatural, “Out of the Darkness,” Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles) are dealing with the consequences of removing the Mark of Cain. Now that the boys have unleashed the Darkness, they will reap what they have sown. Guilt is Sam and Dean’s favorite emotion, and they’ll have plenty of opportunity for it.

The Darkness is a much bigger foe than anything they’ve faced before, it’s a primordial entity that existed prior to God. Crowley (Mark Sheppard) describes the Darkness as “old,” “deep,” and “dark,” as well as having a terrible name.  In the Season 10 finale “Brother’s Keeper” Death told Dean that it took God and his archangels a terrible war just to contain the Darkness through the Mark of Cain. If even God couldn’t destroy the Darkness, the Winchesters will need all the help they can get. Sam even prays to God.

Perhaps they will get some assistance from their frenemy Crowley, who seems to have survived his mother’s attack dog spell on Castiel (Misha Collins). Looks like it won’t be easy for Castiel to “Shake It Off,” which we’re hoping will lead to more appearances by Ruth Connell as the boys try to get Rowena to remove the spell. Season 11 of Supernatural premieres on Wednesday, October 7 on CW, with the episode”Out of the Darkness, Into the Fire.”
