Rick Glenn The Walking Dead Thank YouThe Walking Dead left us sad, shocked, and a bit puzzled by the end of “Thank You.” There was so much to process. We were enthralled during most of the episode, but much like Rick and his crew, we were left feeling hopeless and a little scared by the end.

Enid The Walking Dead JSSWith “JSS,” The Walking Dead moved Season 6 into high gear with a shocking, action-packed episode. “JSS” was directed by Jennifer Lynch and written by Seth Hoffman. The narrative of the episode held strong throughout all of the action, conveying a lot of information about quite a few characters while also keeping us on the edge of our seats. “JSS” exemplified the “show, don’t tell” approach that is the strength of The Walking Dead.

The Walking Dead returns for its 6th season with premiere episode “First Time Again.” The episode starts off showing Rick Grimes and his crew leading a mission to deal with a massive herd of walkers. It flashes between their current predicament and various scenes that have taken place since the Season 5 finale, “Conquer.”  Thus The Walking Dead gives us a sense of the aftermath of Rick killing Pete and of Morgan’s arrival in Alexandria. Those days or weeks leading to this attempt to shepherd hundreds of walkers out past Alexandria haven’t been easy. “First Time Again” gives us a chance to see where The Walking Dead characters we know have landed and to meet some other Alexandria residents.

Madison Fear the Walking Dead Not Fade AwayFear the Walking Dead shows the calm before the storm in “Not Fade Away.” Even though everyone knows there’s a rampant infection, there are attempts at normalcy in their occupied safe zone. Ofelia (Mercedes Mason) starts a romance, Travis (Cliff Curtis) helps out around the neighborhood, Madison (Kim Dickens) fixes up the house, and Nick (Frank Dillane) goes back to his drug-seeking habits. Rick recovers The Walking Dead ConquerAfter the intensity of “Try,” the Season 5 finale of The Walking Dead, “Conquer,” addresses the increased tension between the people of Alexandria and their new residents. By fighting with Pete and waving a gun around in the streets of Alexandria, Rick only worsened the conflict and faces the possibility of being expelled from Alexandria. Enid Carl in Tree The Walking Dead Try

Episode 15 of The Walking Dead, “Try,” finds Alexandria at a crossroads. With the deaths of Aiden and Noah in the previous episode, “Spend,” loss and uncertainty reign. The Monroe family is mourning the loss of Aiden. Deanna puts on Aiden’s “Run Mix” and listens to Nine Inch Nails until Reg can’t take it any more. Carol makes a casserole for the family, which she leaves at their door. Deanna doesn’t seem interested in their casseroles or their condolences. Rick, Michonne, Sasha and the others are also mourning the loss of Noah, each in their own ways. In The Walking Dead, death is never as straightforward as a simple loss. In “Try” the deaths of Noah and Aiden have raised a lot of questions for both Rick’s group and the people of Alexandria.
