This was certainly the most improved finale event in terms of the hit-or-misses we’ve seen over the years. In an unusual move, Supernatural gave us Episode 22, “Who We Are,” and Episode 23, “All Along the Watchtower,” on the same night. Mary Toni Supernatural Theres Something about Mary“There’s Something About Mary” is the beginning of the end for Season 12 of Supernatural. The conflicts we’ve watched all season are finally coming to a head. “There’s Something About Mary” was written by Brad Buckner and Eugenie Ross-Leming and directed by P.J. Pesce, the trio previously responsible for “Family Feud” and “King of the Damned.” Despite a series of grim events, the episode doesn’t have the emotional punch we love in Supernatural. We could live with the emotional omission, but it’s the flawed story that really hurts “There’s Something About Mary.” Continue reading
